Can I visualize things I read about?
Objective: Students will visually interpret a scene from a book.
1. Word of the Day #15: candor
2. Language Lab #12 (Replace each question mark with a semicolon or a colon.)
3. Writer's Notebook #17: Close your eyes and spend a moment in your memory calling to your remembrance a good friend from childhood. Bring the memory to life in your memory: How did your friend look? Where did you play together? What toys or games did you play? Then on p. 17, bring that picture to life, either by drawing the memory or using words.
4. We read independently for 15 minutes and completed a reading log using the reading strategy of visualization.
5. We were introduced to our book website project assignment.
6. We began working independently on our book project websites. (If you need instructions for how to set up the website, find the instructions for your class here.)
For next time: Remember to bring a reading book.
