How can I evaluate the quality of information sources on the Internet?
Objective: Students will use evaluation skills to assess the quality of online sources.
1. Language Lab #26
2. We read independently for 15 minutes and completed a reading log using a strategy of our choice.
3. We completed Writer's Notebook #34 after listening to any remaining persuasive speech presentations.
4. As a class, we read and discussed a quote presenting an analogy about how discussions progress in the world.
5. We each picked a focus question for a short online research activity. Then we practiced evaluating the currency, reliability, authority, purpose, and point of view of online sources using a source evaluation worksheet.
For next time: No homework
