How are messages in stories impacted by the resolution of conflicts?
Objective: Students will be able to interpret the story implications of different resolutions to a conflict.
1. Power word: inaudible (in- = not; audi = hearing, sound; -ible = able to be)
2. Introduction to our year-long project of vocabulary cards and Vocabulary list #1.
3. As a class we made a list of some conflicts in Fahrenheit 451 and then discussed the role of conflicts in adding meaning to a story.
4. We explored how the outcome of a story can impact the story's meaning by comparing two versions of "The Little Red Hen."
5. In small groups, we created different possible resolutions for classic fairy tales and analyzed how each resolution would impact the meaning of the fairy tale.

For next time: Read pages 88-106 of Fahrenheit 451 (finish Part 2). After you read, fill out a predictions possibilities chart for the novel at this point.
