How can the form of poems help us appreciate their content?
Objective: Students will analyze the relationship between form and content in poetry.
1. We took vocabulary quiz #5.
2. In our Writer's Notebook, we each completed a mix and match activity for the following three poems: Walt Whitman's "I Hear America Singing," Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven," and Emily Dickinson's "Because I Could Not Stop for Death." (You can choose to mix any of the poems with any task, but you should complete all 3 tasks, choosing one for each of the 3 poems.)
3. We submitted our Writer's Notebooks.
For next time: Come excited for our poetry slam.
