How can asking questions help us as readers?
Objective: Students will be able to identify points of uncertainty as they read and formulate them into questions.
1. We used our Word of the Day lists to play a part of speech game for extra credit.
2. Video clip and discussion of how asking questions helps us identify points of confusion and make progress in learning.
3. Writer's Notebook #14: Twenty Questions. As you read independently, pay attention to all the points of confusion or uncertainty that you encounter. Formulate these into a list of questions.
4. Complete a reading log entry using the reading strategy of questioning.
5. We continued setting up individual websites for upcoming book projects.
For next time: Enjoy the weekend!
