How are we reacting to events in Speak?
Objective: Students will sustain momentum and focus as they read.
1. Word of the Day #22: inexorable
2. Language Lab #18 (Write two sentences of your own that are connected. Then combine them using at least two of the 3 combining options shown on the second page.)
3. We each individually finished the Melinda's memories sheet. Then as a class we discussed how Melinda's memories influence her as a character.
4. As a class, we talked about a quote from Speak, watched a trailer for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and completed Writer's Notebook #24.
6. We continued reading the second part of Speak independently, recording our thoughts as we read on an "inner voice" recording sheet.
For next time: No homework.
