4. We discussed how conversations and discussions are important for building community and completed an initial discussion skills status report (p. 81).
5. In pairs, we filled out an "opinionnaire" about communities, generating ideas in preparation for a whole-class discussion.
6. As a class, we discussed how people get along (or don't get along) in their communities and what it takes to make a differences in the world.
7. Exit slip: Turn in opinionnaire and Writer's Notebooks.
