3. We completed a reading log using a reading strategy of our choice.
4. WN #30: What is the power of a voice?
5. We discussed persuasion: What is the difference between changing minds or actions with words versus with force? What is the difference between persuasion and brainwashing? maniuplation? education? preaching?
6. As a class, we watched a video and discussed what makes some speaking powerful and other speaking less effective.
7. We previewed the culminating assignment for our next unit (a persuasive speech) and brainstormed possible speech topic ideas (here are 80 ideas to get you thinking).
For next time: No homework.
